With non-communicable diseases like heart disease and diabetes skyrocketing in Malaysia, are we adequately tackling obesity as a public health issue? Unfortunately, we don’t seem to be making any meaningful progress when it comes to preventing or managing obesity, apart from shaming individuals for poor lifestyle choices. This World Obesity Day, we speak to Dr Sivarajan Ramasamy, Public Health Medicine Specialist from the N. Sembilan State Health Dept, about the complexities of obesity.
